COMMUNITY SERVICE
Ladies,
Our community service projects are really looking good. Thank you to all of the ladies who helped sew labels on quilts at the meeting. If you did not see the labels, they were simple small labels "This quilt was made for (space for the new owner to put name) by the ladies of the Quilters Guild of the Southern Crescent, Fayetteville, GA, Jan 2009" The label was bordered with strips of fabric log cabin style that I had left from other projects. The square with the writing was light blue. They were colorful, functional, informational, and easy to make. Remember if you are making a quilt, please put a label on the back, if you are making a QOV you could say that on the label. In addition, if it is a QOV it must be washed and have a pillowcase or other bag to present the quilt in. Our guild if presently very fortunate, we have fabric, thanks to Jane Collins' generosity, and batting thanks to the generosity of the Hobbs Company. They sent a roll of Hobbs 80/20 batting in exchange of 5 bar codes of Hobbs packaged batting. When this roll is gone, I will send off for another. Call me if you need batting for a community service quilt or fabric. Gretchen has lots of fabric stored at her house. I will have more rolls of generous fat quarters at the next meeting.   See you then, Judy Mahfood
